Polygraph Australia is owned and operated by American Polygraph Association accredited polygraph examiner Cristelle van Heerden.
It takes experience and skill to get to the truth, and I have been pursuing the truth since 1998.
I have accumulated over two decades of experience in administering polygraph examinations for private clients. I am fully accredited by the American Polygraph Association, the world's peak governing body for polygraph examinations and research.
To become accredited as an APA member, an examiner must adhere to strict guidelines and educational requirements, which includes graduating from an APA accredited school. It is only through strict adherence to these training and educational standards that APA members attain accuracy rates of 98 percent.
I have completed numerous polygraph training courses accredited by the American Polygraph Association. As you'll see below, I hold certifications in specialised scientific content analysis, data interpretation, and psychophysiological detection of deception.
I've been fortunate to work with some of the most renowned practitioners of polygraph examinations worldwide. I was mentored by highly regarded and respected polygraph instructors based in the US and Israel. These instructors are cited by fellow examiners as being among the best in the industry.

My Approach
A Client Centred, Compassionate Approach
Over my career, I have pursued examinations with a wide variety of clients from differing backgrounds, nationalities and needs. I take a compassionate approach- I understand that people may have been going through personal anguish such as anxiety or depression, wanting to prove their innocence or wondering if their partner or loved one is telling them the truth.
I've dealt with instances of finding out the truth to allegations of infidelity or dishonesty; helping those falsely accused prove their innocence; uncover the truth from addictions such as to sex, pornography, and sexual communications with others (e.g. sexting, sex chat apps, interactive sex videos etc.); pre-screen prospective employees before they start in sensitive industries; and all manner of issues in which knowing the absolute truth matters.

Certifications And Accreditations
Strictly following the APA Code Of Ethics and up to date methodologies, I endeavour to exceed the standards of testing to reach the 98% accuracy and reliability that my clients expect and deserve.
Polygraph Australia uses the latest gold- standard polygraph examination equipment. The polygraph instrument in use measures breathing rate, heartbeat and pulse rate, electrodermal activity and changes in blood volume inside the arterioles underneath the examinees' skin.
The instrument features a ground-breaking ESS-M interpreter that further improves scientific accuracy of data interpretation and countermeasure (ant-cheating) tools.
My ultimate goal is to find out the truth- and to remain an impartial interpreter of the results. As an accredited examiner, I am pledged to remain objective, provide a neutral, data-based interpretation of the polygraph results for clients, while maintaining the utmost confidentiality and discretion.

1998
Completed polygraph course through Argenbright International Institute of Polygraph. Instructed by Mr Charles E. Slupski, a former U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Command Polygraph Examiner and Instructor at the U.S. Department of Defence Polygraph Institute.
1999
Completed specialised training in Scientific Content Analysis, Instructed by Mr Avinoam Sapir, the President of LSI Laboratory for Scientific Interrogation, and the developer of the Scientific Content Analysis technique.
2003
Completed an advanced and specialised training course in Psychophysiological Detection of Deception. Accredited by the American Polygraph Association.
2015
Completed an advanced and specialised training course in testing suspected sex crime offenders and their victims. Accredited by the American Polygraph Association.
2015
Obtained certification in Horizontal Scoring systems.
2020
Attended course on interpreting the physiological data extracted from the Photoelectric Plethysmograph sensor. Presented by Mr Ben Blalock, the Director of PEAK Credibility Assessment Training Centre. Accredited by the American Polygraph Association.
